No doctor-patient relationship

Every patient is different. Outcomes vary between individuals, and no particular result can be promised or guaranteed. The risks, benefits and alternatives of any treatment, including no treatment, are discussed with you before you decide, and your informed consent is obtained before any procedure. Published research describes groups of patients in specific studies and does not predict the result for any individual.
Patients outside South Africa
Dr Kana is registered with the HPCSA to practise in South Africa. Initial video or phone interactions are strictly administrative, to assess logistical suitability for travel to South Africa. No diagnosis, medical triage or clinical advice is provided until the patient is physically present in South Africa. Your own doctor remains responsible for your care in your home country.

The secure referral portal is for referring practitioners and for patients sending their own records. It is strictly for elective, administrative referrals and is not monitored 24/7. Submitting a referral does not guarantee an appointment or a particular treatment. Please do not send clinical information by ordinary email or messaging apps. See the privacy notice for how information is processed.
External links and third-party names
Links to other websites, such as hospitals, medical aids, government departments or research databases, are provided for convenience. The practice is not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Dr Kana practises independently. Hospital, university and medical aid names are used only to state where he practises, his academic appointment or funder arrangements, and do not imply endorsement by those organisations.
