What to expect

Your first visit, step by step

Seeing a specialist can feel daunting. Here's exactly how it works, so there are no surprises.

  1. 1

    Get in touch

Call the rooms or ask your GP to refer you. We'll let you know which hospital suits your needs and what to bring.

  2. 2

    Your consultation

Dr Kana takes a full history, examines you and, where needed, looks inside the nose or throat with a small camera in the room.

  3. 3

    A clear plan

The aim is that you leave understanding what's going on, the options available (including not operating) and the likely costs for your medical aid.

  4. 4

    Treatment & follow-up

If you and Dr Kana decide on surgery, the rooms guide you through admission, recovery and check-ups, and keep your own doctor informed.

Tell us what's going on and we'll point you in the right direction, whether that's an appointment or a referral from your GP. The rooms can't give medical advice over the phone.
